Born Both nominated for a Lammy!

OMG, my memoir Born Both: An Intersex Life has been nominated for a Lammy–the Lambda Literary Award! Queer non-binary Latinx intersex appreciation??!!!??? Whaaaat? SO excited! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’m beyond thrilled and happy to have my first book recognized as one of eight finalists in the LGBTQ nonfiction category! It’s perhaps even more thrilling to know that my message of equality for all–particularly those marginalized as intersex and gender variant people–is getting such a positive reception and reaching so many. <3

The winner will be announced on June 4th in New York City, my home town, at this year’s 30th Annual Awards Ceremory. Please root for me! Whaaa! #Lammys

Interesting fact: At approx. 1.7% of the population, Intersex people are as common as red-heads. “Everyone’s met an intersex person, you just may not know you have.”
