Born Both to be Published in German!
I’m very happy to announce that my memoir Born Both: An Intersex Life (Hachette Books) will be available in German with Zaglossus Books this summer, summer 2018! Zaglossus is a publishing house based in Vienna, Austria, whose mission is to, “publish literature that makes the variety of different ways of life visible. Focusing – but by no means exclusively – on our program is the lives of queer people, their history and present aligned.”
I am honored and deeply grateful to the folks at Zaglossus who had followed my writing on queer, non-binary, and intersex identity and human rights for years, and approached me about this possibility. I’ve received such beautiful communications from folks in this past year since Born Both was released about how much they enjoyed it and/or it helped them to understand intersex and non-binaryissues. Also, most touchingly, many have shared that reading it helped them love and accept themselves–not just as intersex, but as people of color, women, queer, non-binary/gender variant folks, and, come to think of it, even as men (smiles). Knowing it will be reaching even more folks around the world makes me really, really happy. <3
